The MA in English with Digital Humanities programme offered by CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus is an intensive two-year programme. Combining the best of English literary studies with the emerging field of Digital Humanities, this multidisciplinary programme encourages experimentation and engagement with a variety of literary genres, texts and digital media. It provides ample opportunities to explore the intersection of literary texts and theories with social media platforms, programming and software tools. This creative play with literary texts and digital platforms allows students to develop a nuanced understanding of the texts they study in the classroom and the ways in which these can be represented, shared and remediated in the digital world.
In addition to working with literary texts and digital tools, students also learn about social media and its impact on literature and communication. This will help them unravel ways in which social media platforms can be used to engage with wider audiences, promote literary works and foster literary discussions.Through the course of the programme, students will also be provided crucial hands-on training to equip them to effectively deploy tools integral to contemporary Digital Humanities research and scholarship.
